History

The original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants was formed by the mutant master of magnetism known as Magneto to serve as his accomplices in his conquest of humanity. The original Brotherhood's membership fluctuated over the years. Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch defected from the group to join the Avengers. Magneto later recruited Lorelei, one of the Savage Land primitives he artificially mutated. Eventually Magneto disbanded the group, and the various members went their separate ways. A second group of radically-motivated mutants going by the name of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants was organized by the mutant shape-changer called Mystique. The Blob is the only person who has belonged to both incarnations of the Brotherhood.
